Rishi Sunak’s Early Life
Usha Sunak immigrated from East Africa to Britain in the 1960s. Mr. Sunak has revealed that as a child he wanted to act in Star war movies. He went to Stroud School, Romsey, and later studied at Winchester College, later becoming head boy of the college. During his summer holidays, he worked as a waiter in a curry house. While graduating in 2001 from Lincoln College, Oxford he read philosophy, economics, and politics. He has also done an internship at the Conservative campaign headquarters and then joined the conservative party. In 2006, Rishi Sunak earned an MBA Degree from Stanford University.

While pursuing his post-graduation from Stanford University, he met his present wife Akshata Murthy. Akshata is the daughter of Sir N. R. Narayana Murthy and Mrs. Sudha Murthy, who run a multinational company in India, known as Infosys. Sunak’s paternal grandparents belong to Gujranwala (currently in Pakistan) and his maternal grandparents belong to Ludhiana (currently in India). His grandparents migrated to East Africa and then to Britain. His father worked as a general practitioner in the National Health Service and his mother worked as a pharmacist in Southampton. Rishi Sunak is the eldest of three siblings. While his brother, Sanjay Sunank works as a psychologist. On the other hand, his sister, Raakhi Williams, serves in the United Nations from New York.

He worked as an analyst in the Investment Bank Goldman Sachs between 2001 and 2004. Then he switched to work at a hedge fund firm named The Children’s Investment Fund Management. In 2009, he left it to join his former colleagues and friends in California at a new hedge fund company. He has been a director of Catamaran Ventures (an investment firm) which is owned by his father-in-law, N.R. Narayana Murthy from 2013 to 2015.

He married the daughter of N.R. Narayan Murthy and Sudha Murthy, the founders of Infosys. Later, Akshata Murthy and Rishi had two daughters, Krishna, born in 2011 and Anoushka, born in 2013. The couple owns several houses that includes Kirby Sigston Manor, located in Kirby Village, A Mews House in Earl’s court, a penthouse apartment in Santa Monica, California, and a flat on the Old Brompton Road, South Kensington. Rishi has revealed that he is a true Coca Cola addict and a dog lover too.

He is a genuine teetotaller. Rishi is a true fan of Southampton Football Club, having been born and raised in the city. After being asked what he would do if he is not a prime minister. In reply, he said we would run a Southampton football club that would make him a happy man. Sunak is devoted Hindu, although he said in a conference that he is a British personality with an Indian religious nature and cultural heritage. This has been seen as he took an oath on Srimad Bhagavad Gita as MP in the House of Commons.
