The first woman of a tribal community and the second Female president of India. Yes, we are implying Draupadi Murmu. She is the current president of India and is serving as the 15th president since 2022. She is the youngest person and the first-ever president who was born in independent India. Droupadi has also served in the 8th position as a governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021. Before that, she served as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Rairangpur City from 1994 to 1997.
Draupadi Murmu Early Life
She was born with the name Puti Tudu on June 20, 1958, to a Santyhali Family in Uparbeda Village in the Baidaposi area of Rairangpur, Odisha. Her father was a farmer, Biranchi Narayan Tudu and her grandfather were Sarnpanch. Later, her school teacher changed her name as Draupadi. Her name changed many times from Durpadi to Dorpadi. and others. Murmu studied elementary education at a local primary school in Upar Beda. At the age of five, she moved to Bhubaneshwar for higher studies.

From 1979 to 1983, Droupadi worked as a junior assistant at the Department of Irrigation in the Odisha Government. From 1994 to 1997, then she worked as a teacher at the Sri Aurobindo Integral Education School. She worked at a research center in Rairangpur, where she taught Odia, Hindi, Geography, and Maths. In 1997 Draupadi was an independent woman elected as councilor of Rairangpur. Later, she joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 2000, she was elected to Odisha Legislative Assembly and then served from 2000 to 2009.

Smt Draupadi became a member of the BJP in 1997. Later, she started her political career in the position of Vice-chairman of the Rairangpur NAC. In 2007, the Odisha Legislative Assembly honored her with the title of Best MLA of the Year award. In 2009, she held on to her assembly seat when the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had broken their tie-up with the BJP. Murmu Ji was sworn as the first woman Governor of Jharkhand in 2015. Later, Draupadi Ji took part in the National Democratic Alliance in 2022. In 2022, the presidential election happened and she was elected as the next President of India. This is how she became the first tribal and second female president after Pratibha Patil.

Murmu Ji has been through a lot in her life as she overcame many of her losses in less time. Later, she married to Shyam Charan Murmu, who was a banker. Unfortunately, he died due to cardiac arrest. In her marriage, she had two children which included two sons and one daughter. In 2009, her one son, Laxman Murmu died at the age of 25. The flour in poverty was her second son who passed away in a road accident 10 years ago in 2012. She has one daughter and named her Itishree. Itishree married Ganesh Hembram who was a rugby player.
